Vega's dam Melodia came to Denmark imported directly from a breeder in Portugal. Melodia was graded with an impressive 73 points, including three 8s. She has a strong pedigree with paternal grandsire Riopele, who is decorated with 5* merit as a breeding stallion and 4* as a recommended breeding stallion on performance. Riopele's sire Hostil is likewise decorated with 5* breeding merit. In the 5th generation is the legendary Veiga stallion Novilheiro, who competed in both Grand Prix dressage and advanced jumping. Melodia herself is impressively quick to learn – both dressage and jumping. Melodia loves going to riding and is a pleasure to work with. She is of the baroque type, with a good foundation, strong topline and good movement.

Vega's sire is our buckskin Lusitano stallion Rei CDR, who is by the fantastic Lusitano stallion Vitorino. He was a 167 cm tall buckskin stallion of distinguished bloodlines and was declared an FEI Grand Prix dressage horse. A majestic stallion with a gentle character, impressive presence and documented strong physique. A Lusitano stallion with all the right qualities, who produced offspring of even higher quality than himself. Vitorino's pedigree includes several Grand Prix horses and sought-after blood from both the Veiga and Andrade lines, and he also carries interesting genetic heritage through Ortigão Costa blood from Ripado. Vitorino has also proven his worth in Working Equitation as a former national champion in Portugal in his first competition year.

Vitorino passes on strong bone structure, typical and correct morphology as well as a fantastic character and a super temperament, and his offspring are both intelligent and brave. He gives good frame and proportions to all mare types and is generally very correct in what he passes on to his foals.
